"Historically, the term Millwork refered to building elements, made specifically from wood. During the the "Golden Age of milworking (1880-1910) virtually everything in the house was made from wood. During this time, the millwork produced in the United States became standardized nationwide."
Today, most millwork is either pre-manufactured, and ordered out of a catalog..or done off site by a custom shop. A good amount of millwork is done by Benjamin Lower himself, in his workshop. It is vital to be able to create custom elements for each job. With a backround steeped in finer woodworking, he is able to incorporate the correct woods, and designs for each project.
